It is a relatively small club run by volunteers and has a vibrant social focus. Relaxation and fun playing bowls is the priority.

It has one artificial green which is well set up and runs true. It is one of the more consistent greens in the Townsville District. Shade is on all four sides with the main playing area open.

Stanthorpe Bowls Club successfully launched the Fast Fours Bowls Carnival onTravelling Bowler Fast Fours Carnival Nambour Bowlers 2017 Friday 29th September for their major sponsor Churches of Christ Care. Money from the day was donated to the Farm Hand Charity at the same time. It was wonderful to see players from Nambour, Warwick, Tenterfield, Brisbane join with local Stanthorpe bowlers for a very enjoyable day. With a generous cash prize pool plus prizes on offer, the Stanthorpe Bowls Club looks forward to next years event.

Don’t forget to watch the 2018 events Calendar for details of next years event.

Durong-Bowls-Club-Pink-Bras-Day-2017Members of the Durong bowls Club held their annual “pink bras” day on Saturday 14th October 2017. People from Rockhampton, Childers, Biggenden, Kingaroy, Jandowie, Warwick, Ironpot and surrounding areas all came together for a great day of bowls and raised around $2,800 for the Mater Hospital’s ‘chicks in pink’ Foundation. Another terrific effort from everyone involved in the day.

Special thanks to Hook, Sonya and the community of Ironpot who participated for the first time and not only donated an auction item which raised $120 but also contributed a further $300 Donation. Many thanks.

The Durong Bowls Club will be hosting their ‘blue jocks’ day in February 2018, so travelling bowlers put this on your calendar for next year and get set for a fabulous weekend. There is plenty of FREE parking for caravans and RV’s.

Visitors welcome.  If you are driving through Warwick, Queensland at any time give me a call at home on 0414 852 482 and pop in for a cuppa and a batch of fresh scones with homemade jam and whipped cream. Looking forward to meeting more bowlers in 2018.
